The hotel provided a buffet of breakfast pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, tea, & juice…
After breakfast, we hopped on the bus and followed Pastor Chuck & Betty Ostlie up the coast to a beautiful sandy spot on the beach, where we held the most awesome baptism service you could ever experience. Doug Sweeny, being a new Christian on the team felt that God had put it on his heart that he should be baptized. John thought it would be a good idea to have it done while he was here. One thing led to another and Tom made the arrangements.
Huddled in a circle on the wet sand we sang “We Will Dance” led by Sherry on guitar and accompanied by Betty on the flute. Pastor Chuck, Doug, John, and Tom Swan worked their way into the icy cold water. The perfect wave came and Doug was baptized, all-the-while Betty continued on the flute playing various selections including, “Shall We Gather at the River”.
Afterward, we drove over to the site of the Ostlie’s new church development. We took an offering and prayed over the property. Then it was off to lunch, sight seeing, and shopping. The restaurant offered a spectacular view overlooking Valparaiso Harbor.
Starting the day with a service of baptism left us in a spirit of celebration throughout the day.
We arrived back in La Pintana in time for our traditional dinner at Pizza Hut. We were greeted there by Guido and Jose, and their families.
In His Love,
