Final Day!

work-small.jpgOur projects are all done but the finishing touches, as we look toward cleaning up, packing, and traveling tomorrow to Mendoza, Argentina. We are amazed that it is over! The first week seemed slow and laborious, but the second week flew by, so that we are surprised it is time to leave! The work has gone well. Of course we have to share kitchen and clean up duties, learning to serve one another in the process of serving our Lord and, of course, the girls. Injuries have been few, but colds and intestinal flu made their rounds without deterring us.

at-church-small.jpgSunday, we did not work, but we split up to attend various church services in the community. We joined in the service, singing in both English and Spanish to our hosts.

dinner-small.jpg Our evenings are full. Saturday, we were served a dinner in our honor at the local La Pintana Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Sunday afternoon, we went to La Palmaire for a bit of shopping and another “carne” feast.

precious-face-small.jpg Monday, we had a delightful time visiting with the girls in their homes. We divided up again into eight groups, enjoying lovely pasta creation, but most of all enjoying the company of the girls. These times are the highlights of our trip. Last night (Tuesday), the Hogar (orphanage) hosted Vision for Chile, Chilean National Church sponsors, and other sponsors and supporters.

sponsors1-small.jpgWe were honored to be visited by the President of the Chilean Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Pastor Hector Arias, who spoke encouraging words to the children. He told them that our presence here demonstrates that God had not forgotten them, emphasizing they do have hope for a meaningful future.
team-2-picture-small.jpgThis morning, our leaders emphasized the stresses we may encounter as we transition back to our everyday lives. Please, families and friends, we will not return the same, and the newness we encounter in ourselves may seem strange. Be patient!
