Team Two in Santiago, Update #1

¡Hola amigos!

My name is Aleiah and our photographer, Ashley and I have been volunteered to update you on our time spent in Chile! The steel pavilion has been successfully finished!!!! After all the hard work, it looks fabulous! Team one also completed the painting of the vocational building and started the work that team two will be completing.
Thursday and Friday, team one and our “thirty dayers” enjoyed a fun and restful weekend in Viña del Mar! We shopped, swam in the ocean, dined at delicious restaurants and enjoyed each other’s company, before some of us had to catch a plane. It was a great way to end an amazing trip!
Team one has returned home safely and team two arrived at the Hogar on Sunday with no problems. We had a wonderful lunch prepared for us by the Tias. After the long plane ride we were grateful for the rest and fellowship with the girls we had in the afternoon. That night we ate pizza and a team meeting to get to know each other and learn about the Hogar. We found out what we will be doing for the next two weeks as well.
Our project manager, Kerry, is overseeing the building projects of the team. Today we began to finish the work on the library that team one started. Putting up siding and tearing off the roof will keep us busy for a while!
Six of our team members are working for us on a special project at a CMA girls’ boarding school in Linares, Chile. The “Linares Six” are upgrading one of the dorms, which includes painting, roofing and other construction work.
We will keep you updated on our progress throughout the next two weeks. Please continue to keep us in your prayers!

  1. HI ALEIAH! I LOVE YOU! I hope you are having a good time in Chile while I am here! Oh and I hope everyone else is having a safe and blessed trip too.

  2. Hola team 2 and all my 30 dayer friends! Hola to Kerry and my Poughkeepsie friends. Praying for all of you as you continue where we left off… May our Lord bless you and keep you safe as you serve Him. Thank you Aleiah and Ashley for the updates! Vaya con Dios!

  3. Hola team two. We have been home and resting a couple of days and getting back into the swing of the usual routines and I can speak for all on team one that we again had a wonderful time with the nina’s and tia’s and hated to leave but we went with confidence that you would be able to finish what we started with the grace of God with you every step of the way. Give all the girls an extra hug from all of us, be safe, enjoy and speak from your hearts. PS- if you eat in Vina at the ship over the water, try the Sea Bass Primo Pesto. It was great!

  4. You are the bride of Christ and His face shine upon you as you minister to the girls. Continue sharing His love with them, its what they need more than anything. With our Lords help you will finish strong. You are all in my prayers.
Happy Birthday to Aleiah and Katherine a few days later!

    With much, much love,
    Ryan Brinkman
