Amanda Update

“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” Acts 20:35

The joy I have been receiving while working at the schools La Rosas and Miguel Angel has been unexplainable.  I go to Miguel Angels with a girl from Casa Esperanza and help with English on Mondays and Wednesdays, on Thursdays and Friday’s I go to La Rosa’s which is a special needs school. Working at the schools has taught me to be creative with showing the love of Christ and serving. Some days the teachers say they do not need any help so one day I colored with a girl who could not speak all day. I went home feeling a little discouraged because I didn’t really do anything but I next day when I arrived she had the biggest smile on her face and ran towards me to give me a hug. God taught me in the moment that just a small act of kindness such as coloring with a girl is still kingdom work and is showing love.

The kids are very loving and will freely give hugs and ask me a million times how to say their name in English. Many are very eager to learn and love. The schools are very poor and do not have much but the people here take what they have and make the most of it with a grateful attitude. Thank you for all of your prayers and please continue to pray for La Pintana and the Casa Esperanza Ministry.
