Reflections on a recent trip to the House of Hope
“My heart is full of joy as I look back on our week at Casa Esperanza. The Holy Spirit was there creating peace. Christ was honored and adored in worship. And God’s Word in the Beatitudes was heard and acted upon. As the Lord spoke to us and led our New York ministry team, we did our best to serve and adapt ourselves to the opportunities He gave us. The team worked hard at the tasks at hand, showed initiative, and supported one another at all times. God’s Spirit helped us to be flexible and reach beyond our perceived limits in physical endurance and emotional depth. I couldn’t be prouder of each one!
“My heart is warmed as I consider the little ones from the orphanages and the young people of the school. I pray they saw Christ in us”

“In the most tender moments, when relationships were growing or gifts were shared, the young women of the House of Hope became much-loved sisters and impacted our lives with their love very deeply. Estefania shone brightly among us as Casa Esperanza’s director, and her love cast a glow over everything we did together. And then, of course, there were the children. My heart is warmed as I consider the little ones from the orphanages and the young people of the school. I pray they saw Christ in us and will all come to trust Him, find healing in His love, and serve Him with their lives.

“I’m so very grateful for Vision for Children and especially, Kerry Mitras’ leadership. He was very patient with us, flexible in planning, and trusted God every step of the way. God used him to wisely shepherd us through the week (and airports!), and hopefully, the results will bear much fruit to the glory of God!”
