Hello Friends and Family, we have had an awesome 5 days. On Sunday morning the team went to the San Marcos church, an English speaking church. This church has been a real friend and blessing to the House of Hope. We had a wonderful service, a great time in the word, prayer and music. We thank God for our relationship with them.
That afternoon, we travelled to one of our favorite eating and shopping places, Pomaire. The weather was fantastic ! We were not disappointed with the shopping or the food. A fun time was had by all.
On Tuesday, two new team members joined the team. Both Brian and Anne Marie Hamfeldt are from the Chattanooga TN area and are close friends with Bob & Deb Howen. We are glad that they are here. Brian is a professional photographer. We are looking forward to putting his skills to use.
On Wednesday we enjoyed another travel day as we went to Valparaiso, one of Chile’s major port cities. Wow what a good day. We started our day off with a short boat ride in the Pacific Ocean. We couldn’t believe it but the boat’s captain allowed Paul, Hanna and Anne Marie to drive the boat. It was quite the experience and a little scary. While in Valparaiso we visited the La Sebastiana Casa Museum. Don Sebastiana is a very famous award winning poet from Chile. The view from his home overlooking the Pacific Ocean was quite breath taking.
We had a great lunch and enjoyed some time on the beach in Vina Del Mar. All in all it was a very good day.
And yes, the construction of our multi-purpose building continues. We have a full crew and the work in the areas of electrical, insulation and interior framing are continuing and are looking very good. It was exciting to see the soffits and fascia put up. It makes the building look so different. We are also are cleaning up and preparing for the sheet rock to be delivered. We have a very good team and they work very well together.
On Thursday afternoon, we took a break from our normal routine and went to the school that we are supporting and listened to the “ Big Band “ They were awesome. They put on a concert just for us from the House of Hope. It was so exciting to see and hear these kids play instruments that for most of them they had just started playing less than 18 months prior. You cannot believe what this is doings for these kids. Please pray and help us buy more instruments so that more kids can be in the band. We will accept used instruments in good condition. Contact me via e-mail or phone. Please help us make a difference !
That’s all for now. More to follow…………………………………….
