Building, Cooking, and Speaking

Hello from Kristie again

img_9723-standard-e-mail-view.jpgWe are well into our building projects. Construction on the steel building is going well and no one has been injured thus far. Praise God!

img_9785-standard-e-mail-view.jpgI would like to tell all of you that our translators (We have 6 here this year) have been our connection to the girls and the workers helping us build the steel building. Without them, none of this would run as smoothly as it does and I believe that our connections with the girls are enriched with the help of these wonderful people. Please pray for our translators Cora, Paula, Ryan, Katherine, Nancy and Joy.

We have many other projects we are working on here this year. Some of those include – fixing a building to put the library in, painting, hair cutting, just to name a few. Right now I am sitting in the administration building on the second floor watching the sun beat on the metal roof causing heat waves. And I am wondering if Tom didn’t pick the perfect job for me! (I am from Canada you know!)

img_9773-standard-e-mail-view.jpgThere are some other very important people I would like to mention. Our Cooks! They have been working very hard organizing and preparing our meals.img_9536-standard-e-mail-view.jpg It is long day working in the kitchen and we all appreciate what the do to keep us fed! Please pray for these wonderful ladies. This next picture was taken from the top of the scaffold for the steel building. It is looking west over LaPintana.

Thank you to all who left comments about the last post I made. We read them to the team the next day and we were all encouraged by your love and support. So please keep the comments coming, we enjoy them very much.

  1. Glad to hear things are going well with the project. We at home are praying for you to be safe and productive. Tell Frank that Robbie says hi and he misses his daddy.

    Blessings to you,

    Cindy Tremblay

  2. Hola,
As I look at the picture of LaPintana, I’m struck with the look of extreme poverty, and yet as I continue to view the picture, I see the majesty of God’s creation surrounding the city. Please know that in your most difficult moments there, that God will be gracious to you just as he is to those whom you are serving. That Majesty will surround you in you spiritual poverty when you need it most. Kristie, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being the one to keep us abreast of your team’s accomplishment as you are there. Our sincere prayer efforts to you all. Ray and Susan Morin, Hoosick Falls, NY Keep on, keep on, keep on!

  3. Greetings to all and especially to our Sylvan Lake Crew.
We are thinking of you and have e-mailed out your posts to the congregation. Carry on with His strength.
Please be assured we prayed for the entire team last Sunday during our worship service and will of course be doing the same this Sunday.
I know your American friends won’t understand this, but Happy Thanksgiving!
    Blessings

  4. It was so good to see some familiar faces in the kitchen. Please give these women our greetings, particularly Nellie. Tell her that Sue says, “I wish I were there to give you another massage!” The building looks mmaassiivvee. We are praying for your protection and for unity. Please give Katherine a hug from her parents. Blessings!

  5. Hi to everyone – especially Scott and Angela – from New York’s Adirondack Mountains. Looks like you have plenty to keep you busy and many reminders of how much you are needed. We are all fine – checking the website for the latests news and excited when there is an update. We love you all and are so grateful that you have the courage and grace to do God’s work. You are in our prayers. Love, Mom & Dad R., and of course Harley, Gracie, Katie & Suzie.

  6. Christie, you are doing a wonderful job with the posting of events. The pictuers are wonderful. I love seeing pictures of all you. Know that all of us in New Mexico are praying for you and that we know God is doing marvelous things through all your works.

  7. Hi again!!

Could you please tell the people from Toledo that University of Toledo won their football game today 13-10. They beat MICHIGAN!! (Frank will really appreciate hearing this!)

    Cindy

  8. We thank you so much for the messages we received! It is so great to hear from all of you and to know that you are praying for us. I told the Toledo crew about the football game. There is pure pandamonia going on from that news. Also there is one Michigan fan here too. He’s ok. Sorta. 🙂 Thank you all again!!!

Glad to hear from you Ryan tonight! It’s good to hear the building project is going well and that you are enjoying the work. Thank you Kristie for the update and pictures. We were surprised to read Ryan was an interpretor knowing our son didn’t know the language, and to see another Ryan on the team. Andrea Zell said the quiz team did well for the first meet and EVERYONE answered a question. We are praying for protection for you and the team.
    Love, Mom and Dad

  11. Sheila says:
Glad to hear from “my” Ryan, the interpretor, tonight. The snow covered mountain in the background of the photo is awesome! I’m so proud of you and glad all is well. Daily prayers for you and all the group. Much love, Mom

  12. We’re praying for you guys here, especially Randy and Mark. Maybe some nice person with a digital camera will make a CD for Randy! 🙂

  13. Tell Katherine that her friends at Lesniewicz Associates in Perrysburg, Ohio miss her. You’re in our thoughts!

  14. I don’t remember having this opportunity last year, but I absolutely love having the updates and Mark letting us know when they are there is great. I sort of wonder if there is a hidden agenda tho, is Tom Orme thinking he’ll be getting more people interested this way–well it is working!! God Bless your efforts as we sit home and pray you’re making a world of difference!!
