2023 Trip Team Update 4

Our multicultural work team – Oct. 2023

With the two week mission half complete, we took a cool morning to take a team picture for 2023.  A team of old and young; men and women; experienced veterans and newbies; Chileans (CH) and Americans from various US states (TN, NY, OH); girls living at the house and we visitors who flew in for two weeks with diverse skills and gifts are all serving together happily and generously.  We’ve all truly seen that it is more blessed to give than to receive

One week remains for the team.  Work will continue—completing the roof replacement and painting the halls outside the freshly painted bedrooms. Ministry opportunities continue, too. We’ll  visit to the niños at the other Hogar on this street. This orphanage, built by the Catholics and serving both boys and girls. is now run by the government. We hosted a ‘not halloween’ party for the community children. Today, the Youth group again. Yes, we keep busy here!

 Painting? More!

With drywall replaced and patiently prepared  with tape and ‘mud’  by Lee, the ceiling left is now being painted.  Kurt and Maggie (left) finish up painting hallways on the 2nd floor where rooms were painted all week.  Amazing what gets done with many hands!

  1. What a fabulous and life-changing experience! I am so grateful that I was able to be with the team on this trip! What an awesome team it was! I wish I’d started going on this trip 20 years ago!!! I was humbled and proud to be the photographer and grateful to be able to capture all the memories! Can’t wait to return!
