Next Trip

Dear VFC Family, I pray that this communication finds you and your family doing well. Believe it or not, October is just around the corner and it is time to begin thinking and praying about “ you “ coming to Chile. We would love to have you as a part of our Team working at the House of Hope and helping to change lives. You can make a difference! It doesn’t matter what level of skills you have, what matters is do you have a heart for Jesus and do you want to make a difference in the lives of street and orphaned children. If you do, please come or send someone and become that  “ light “ that is so desperately needed in the community of La Pintana Chile. Attached is our promotional flyer along with our application and release forms. If you have any questions please give me a call @ 615 973 9837. Continue reading Next Trip

Feliz Navidad!!!

Dear supporters of the House of Hope,

The end of the year is a great time to be able to not only look back at the year gone by but also to look forward to the coming year!  This past year has been one in which we saw more families, churches and businesses from Chile become involved in our work in La Pintana.  We have also seen the number of ways we are working increase.  We are changing lives of children, teenagers and young ladies only because of your help and support.  Thank you so much!

I was wearing a House of Hope shirt this past month when a woman ran up to me to tell me that she was from Chile.  I had the opportunity to tell her of our work there.  What was interesting was the look on her face when I said that our work was in La Pintana.  She was fully aware of the great needs there but had problems comprehending going there to meet those needs.  Each year as the number of workers increase, we become more aware of other ways in which we can make a difference in our community. Community work

Four weeks ago I started to work at two different schools in La Pintana. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I am helping at the „Forjadores del Fututo“-School, on Thursdays and Fridays I go to the „Las Rosas“-School, which is a special needs school. The work at these two schools is completely different, which makes it very interesting! At the „Forjadores del Futuro“-School I am helping in grade 3. There are almost 25 children in the classroom and it is sometimes difficult to work with all of them. Sometimes I repeat myself over and over again, saying: „Keep on working…sit down…copy the question from the blackboard…please finish your task now …“ but I think it is worth the trouble if the children can be proud of themselves after finishing a task and getting good grades for it. It makes me happy to see them content about their work.In the last week the children and their teacher started to prepare for the national holiday around the 18th of September, which will be celebrated in school with performances of different dances. One day they practiced to dance „Cueca“, which is the national dance of Chile. It is great for me to have the opportunity to be part of that, as I have never seen something comparable at a German school.

We still need your help

Dear Family, I get overwhelmed when I think of your generosity. You are the best. To date we have received $2,200.00 [ two thousand two hundred dollars ] towards our goal of $8,500.00. Thank you so very much. However we are not there. We still need your help. Please help us ! Every donation helps, no matter what size it is. We have 10 days before our team takes off. Thank you for praying and for your support. God bless !

We need your Help!

Dear VFC Family,

October is just around the corner. If you have been a part of our family for very long you know that means we are packing our bags and preparing for our October Mission Trip to Santiago Chile. For me, it is one of the highlights of my year. I can’t wait to arrive in La Pintana to once again visit with the young women of the House of Hope, the niños and niñas at hogares and our wonderful dedicated staff. This is such a great time of year to go to Chile. It is fall and the weather is beautiful.
