Official House of Hope Final Update:
The trip is over the team has left Chile and are now home however the last few days of the trip were awesome.
On the Saturday before we left, the House of Hope had it’s first “ Kids Zone “day. And wow was it crazy. Kids Zone is like a wild and crazy Sunday school class for unchurched street kids. Being our first class we had no idea of how many kids would show up. We estimated about 10 to 12… However, they came, some more came and then more came. We ended up with 33 kids, some moms and dads and a stray dog. It was great to see and feel the energy and see the Holy Spirit move. Thank you Lord. Please pray as we continue our Kids Zone every Saturday throughout the year.
Along with Kids Zone, the House of Hope will begin teaching classes for guitar, drums and English as a second language. Our goal is to reach La Pintana for Jesus !
We want to thank our team, Bob, Debbie, Lee, Kerry and Chris. It was a great 17 days. A lot of construction work was completed and ministry was accomplished. Again, thank you Jesus.
We want to compliment and thank the young women and staff of the House of Hope. What a great group of people. Thank you for an awesome time of fellowship and working together to the glory of God. See you in October !
Hello, my name is Alicia, from Minnesota, and I will be interning with Casa Esperanza for the next six months. On a whim I heard God call me to go to Chile and just over a month I quit my full time job as a manager and arrived with a lot of unknowns, but with the exception that God is going to use me. Hello Friends and Family, Team One is now home and resting up from a great trip. They were awesome. In the final days before they left we had a No Talent, Talent show. Believe it or not we had some very good talent show up. It is hard to believe but we had some special signing from Tio Chocolateto and Lee Meier’s. Way to go guys. We also had a very interesting act put on by Bob Howen, It was so special we are still trying to figure out what he did and maybe why he did it ? But we love you Tio Bob. And then the House of Hope Girls put on a special act trying to imitate one of our morning meetings. That is hard to do but they did it well. Especially when Nicole played the part of Tio Bob. Wow ! What a fun time. We had Paul from Alaska or is it Iowa or is it Idaho [ it is one of those ] put on a special routine. Thanks Paul. And of special note we had Ann Marie play the part of a human pretzel and put her body in positions that made the rest of us hurt. If I tried that it would split me in two.
And then we had the real talent from Daniel and Jessica. Wow are they talented. Thanks guys for a great show.
The real reason for the party was to celebrate our first graduates, Damy and Cynthia. We are so proud of them. They are the first in their family to graduate from both high school and to obtain a higher education degree. Please pray for them as they are seeking God’s direction for their future.
On Saturday, the day the team departed for home, we had a volunteer day. It was San Marcos day. A local English speaking church that fully supports the House of Hope. That day we had 29 volunteers. Boy did we get a lot of work done. Thank you San Marcos.
On the construction side of our work, Team One was able to complete the electrical work, put on the building wrap in preparation for the siding, loaded all of the sheet rock into the new building [ thank you volunteers ] and get the engineering plans complete for our plumbing. The construction of the building is looking very good.
So we thank you Team One, Bob, Dick, Charlie, Sherrel, Hannah, Chip, Paul and Lee. Thank you for saying yes and thank you for serving. God bless you all !
We are building for the future of our Girls. Can you partner with us to make this a reality?
WE NEED YOUR HELP! It is estimated that over 45 girls in the La Pintana area orphanages will turn 18 within the next 5 years.
God is blessing the House of Hope!
To all of our friends and family, it is so exciting to be at the House of Hope and watch God at work. He is changing the lives of our young women and we are reaching our community for Jesus Christ. We are building for the future. We are asking you to partner with us to make this a reality. We presently have 12 young women. Our goal is to increase that number to 25 within the next 12 months. We are in phase 3 of a 4 phase building project. We are adding additional bedrooms for an 20 more young women, space for a micro business “ House of Hope Accessories “ and space to house future short term teams. This coming October we are taking two teams to Santiago to continue the construction. We need your help to purchase the following building supplies:
16 windows at $300. each
8 doors at $250. each
12 toilets at $200. each
13 sinks at $300. each
12 bathtubs at $900. each
4000 square feet of tile at $2.00 per square foot
600 sheets of sheet rock $10. Each
A workstation for the micro business at a cost of $1000.
Can you help us out? Can you purchase one or more of these items? Maybe you and your family or a group of your friends or church can go together to help buy 25 sheets of sheet rock or 50 square foot of tile or a bathtub? We need your help to accomplish what God has called us to do! Can you help us meet the needs of these very precious young women?
If you can, please Donate now. Go to the donate button and give. Thank you so much for helping us make a difference!
