Internship Update.

Hello, my name is Vera Arenz, I am 20 years old and I am from Cologne, Germany. After my student exchange (6 month) in 2013/14 in Chile I was always sure about returning to this beautiful country after finishing school in Germany. A few month ago I finshed school and here I am! Three weeks ago I arrived in Santiago de Chile to live in the House of Hope and to work in the orphanage La Granja and hogar Caro as a volunteer. It is always funny to play with the children: climbing trees, jumping the jump rope, ride bikes or play volleyball or hide and seek.

House of Hope Update from Amanda

Amanda Grengs

Week 1-

It was a quick adjustment to get settled into House of Hope and feel apart of the family.Week one in Chile was settling into my schedule and figuring out my role in helping outat the schools, hogare, and the house of hope ministry. It has been great getting to knowthe kids and see their eagerness to learn, their questions are endless. Some of the kids atthe school also come to Hope Community on Wednesday nights and they also come on Saturday. Many of these kids come from tough backgrounds and this is a chance for them to just be a kid and have fun while also learning about who Jesus Christ is. One of my highlights so far is worshipping in the churches here in Spanish and building relationships even though there is a language barrier, it is a true testament that love does not have barriers. Polydeck Chile Ltd. Caring Committee

“We are thankful for having the opportunity to help you, we are thankful for being part of an organization that encourages us to help you. Many times in the middle of the daily activities we are not able to see beyond our own problems and to understand how complex the situation could be for someone else; specially for kids and young adults who at young age face the sometimes harsh situations of the real world. But suddenly for many of us, being close to you one Saturday let us also be close to ourselves and see in your eyes the kind of thankfulness that we must feel in our own lives where we have everything we need and sometimes more, and also provide to our loved ones what they need and let them have a better life… in conclusion THANKS, because when helping you we also get help. Because your thankfulness made us more thankful and by letting us be part of your work we are helping and we learn how to be better human beings.” Continue reading “Polydeck Chile Ltd. Bringing hope and healing into the darkness

DSC00718How I love to be in Your presence, with Your people singing praises

I love to stand and rejoice…lift my hands and raise my voice.

…..I think the song goes something like that.

I recently returned from a week in the House of Hope in La Pintana, Santiago Chile. I was able to visit with special people that I had known from my previous trips to Chile.

We were greeted as family and included in all the activities that were going on at the House of Hope. From giving my testimony to washing dishes and sharing God’s love to some very special women to being prayer over at a late night Good Friday service and the blessing of spending Easter Sunday with Daniel and Jessica and their wonderful girls.
